Taxi Driver is a 6-piece cover band playing music from the '50s to today including Oldies, Motown, Classic Rock, Country, Dance & Modern Hits. Our members include Michelle Irions (vocals/manager), Sarah Girres (vocals); Al Irions (keys/sound/manager), Andrew Neely (bass), Miles Loretta (drums), and Mike Turner (guitar).
The band has changed much over the years. We began our journey 21 years ago back in 1991 as a jam band, covering a lot of blues, and artists such as Santana, the Allman Brothers & Phish. In 1998, the band morphed into a female-fronted band with interactive stage presence, and strong, solid harmonies. Taxi Driver was the very first band in Omaha to claim three, and even five female vocalists! We have now settled back into the way we began when we added the girls...with two; Sarah and Michelle. We also play everything completely live....no tracks!
TD has covered the bar circuit in Omaha/Council Bluffs. Over the last 10 years, we have taken our show all across Nebraska, Iowa, & Missouri where we've been privileged to meet the awesome folks of the Midwest! It's been a wonderful journey!
We specialize in large events such as corporate parties and street dances, as well as opening for national acts such as Tim McGraw, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Monkees and BTO, to name a few.
Taxi Driver was nominated in the category of "Best Cover Band" for two consecutive years for the Omaha Entertainment Awards.
