Taxi Driver is a 7-piece cover band playing music from the '50s to today including Oldies, Motown, Classic Rock, Country, Dance & New Hits. Our fabulous members include Sarah Girres, Nicole Kountze, and Michelle Irions (vocals); Cory Kountze (guitar), Andrew Neely (bass), Miles Loretta (drums), and Al Irions (keys/sound/manager). Though the band has changed over the years, Taxi Driver has been in existence for about 20 years. We have covered the bar circuit in Omaha/Council Bluffs and have traveled all over the Midwest. We also specialize in large events such as opening for national acts; Tim McGraw, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Monkees and BTO, to name a few. Taxi Driver was nominated in the category of "Best Cover Band" for two consecutive years for the Omaha Entertainment Awards. Other Festivals and Events include but not limited to: The Qwest Center, Holland Performing Arts Center, Westfair, Taste of Omaha, Summer Arts Festival, Omaha & Duncan Ribfest, Milligan June Jubilee, Dodge Daze, Light the Night for LLS, Panama Picnic, Dunlap 4-County Fair, Riverfest, Earth Day, LaVista Days, Anchor Inn Annual Labor Day Bash, The Wayne Chicken Show, Casinos, Weddings, Corporate & Holiday Parties, Street Dances and More....
The Band The Girls Nicole, Sarah & Michelle Al Irions - Manager, Keys, Sound Co-Founded Taxi Driver with Michael Pujado in 1991 The fearless leader (even though he doesn't know what he's leading sometimes!). Michelle Irions, Manager, Lead Vocals Joined band in 1996 Wife of Al, has been and will be in this band forever, sometimes mother, sometimes sister, sometimes babysitter. Cory Kountze - Guitar Original founding member - 1991 Helluva guitar player, complete type-A personality, and Michelle's brother in a past life. Nicole Kountze - Lead Vocals Joined TD 2007 Loves to sing more than life itself, wears penguin pajama pants, and is an all-around hoot! Sarah Girres - Lead Vocals Joined the band in 1999 Loves to perform more than life itself, has a beautiful family she loves even more than the band, and is usually the reason for any feedback we may have! :) Miles Loretta - Drums, Vocals Joined TD - 2008 The nutball of the band and the one to usually get the girls screwed up about something! Teckie geek with an endless supply of t-shirts. Andy Neely - Bass, Vocals Joined TD - 2008 Andy also plays with original band Rhymes with Orange (great band, folks!) Another teckie with lots of hidden talents (musician, actor, poet, computer dude...you name it, he knows about it)! We'd like to give some love out to the rest of the original, founding members of Taxi Driver who are still our good friends, and still rockin' the Midwest! To Frank Prince, guitar, Brian Hayes, lead vocals, Olen Briggs, drums, and Clark Chancellor, bass....here's to great times!
